Armani will this month launch his latest sunglass venture, a series of eyewear for A/X Armani Exchange, in the latest example of his ambitions for this line.
The launch tightens the links between Armani and Gruppo Safilo, the Italian eyewear giant that produces eye glasses for Emporio Armani and the designer’s signature collection.
The A/X collection comes three years after Armani switched licensors in this sector. Until then, Armani eyewear had been manufactured by Safilo’s major rival Luxottica. However, determined to impose a strict distribution of his eyewear, Armani discontinued his agreement with Luxottica, after that company began retailing his shades and glasses in Sunglass Hut, the large US chain that it owns.
Marc Jacobs' Ex a Label Whore?
Marc Jacobs' (ex?) bf Jason Preston has a tattoo on his arm of the Marc Jacobs logo. Heartwarming or labelwhorey? Well, considering that Preston has a history of being a regular, non-label whore, maybe the latter.
In recent year there is a new trend evolving in the wholesale Jewelry market.
In the past, traditional Advertising had been a major tool of promoting the
products. Trade shows also play a major role in product promotion and sales.
Recently, with the evolution of Internet, online auctions evolved as a main
engine of promoting products and generating online revenue . Different people
have varied points of view about this ever growing popular wholesale jewelry
promotion. One school of thought says that wholesalers are pushing their
products through the online auctions, because they have surplus products that
did not click in the market. The retailers returned these products to the
wholesalers. The wholesalers then find a innovative method of selling these
products online through auctions.
So according to this school of the thought, the factor behind this evolution
of online auctions is the failure of the products to click in the market.
There is another school of thought that believes that Internet world is
expanding. There are more internet users than a decade ago. Today, the online
community is more informed and educated than it was five or 10 years ago. With
the latest evolution of Web 2.0 has offered a whole new range of possibilities.
The enhanced creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration
among users have changed the Internet trends.
As a result, people are more educated and have access to the latest trends
about any field today than. They feel at ease buying online. The trend of online
buying is growing at unimaginable pace as more and more sections of society
trust the credibility of online shopping including Jewelry auctions.
The jewelry producers cannot afford to let the train pass. Like all the
others, they are taking full advantage of an easy advertising and promotion
vehicle like cyberspace to push their products at a very reasonable price. This
has led to a new era where online auctions are major source of jewelry
promotions and sales.
